World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't change much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. Some weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a group. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage that an upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is generally a positive thing, but it can also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make items impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. This will increase the defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These will boost their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will gain when upgraded and their respective values. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button with circular arrows within the item menu. This will reroll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's levels or connect to the status of your account.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character has, the more value you get from every point of health you have and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as you can.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game, and to unlock each one you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the fountain in question, you can then talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, granting the protection needed to survive a full on raid with a few friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If item upgrade playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also get some perks for your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have some upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce the player with a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions that have different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. Additionally the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading is dependent on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP level.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.
There were a few changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance have now a duration of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display of the item. The table of potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and refills the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions that are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The potion table is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that has a purpose but is not important such as a thimble. In some cultures a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new trinket. A player can upgrade a trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as previous one, and will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
When the old Trinkets are not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players, making them an alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear and finally other equipment that they will not replace in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl once they're no longer needed and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to ruin the previous trinket, unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying new ones.
