The Band Toto Asia
Toto expanded its production facilities abroad, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Toto considered North America as a growth market for Washlet bidet seats and toilets, as opposed to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words so that the next generation could understand them. However, many of the words were being replaced by foreign ones, like dui, which is Bengali for verandah.
Origins
Incorporated in 1917, Toto's beginnings mirrored Japan's development. In the beginning, Toto manufactured goods to meet the demand for modern, brand new urban housing. It was the first tunnel kiln in the nation that could produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered the use automation to control production, which allows for more efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s in order to benefit from new markets and sales opportunities. It launched the Cera Trading Company, importing and distributing other products from other manufacturers to complement its own line of plumbing fittings and sanitary earthenware. This strategy boosted sales and increased the firm's global market share.
In the 1990s, Toto began to concentrate on research and development for water-related appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better serve the needs of customers and to increase profits. The company implemented a just-in-time method of managing supply chains, and it used the same methodology for its sales process. This resulted in a greater level of customer satisfaction.
Toto continues to invent with regard to toilet technology. The most recent toilet features an environmentally friendly, powerful tornado flush. The company also makes use of recycled water in its production process and has a green procurement policy. Apart from toilets, Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs, as well as hand dryers that are more energy efficient than conventional models.
The first museum of the company opened in the year 2015 and features exhibits on Toto's seminal products and their development as well as its group companies (all that deal with ceramics) and the history of plumbing and other products such as bath units, and in a separate gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum also has a bathroom that features the WASHLET toilet, as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before forming Toto, members of the band did session work for a variety of musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also appeared on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
You would expect a group with a name such as Asia to be a prog band however it's actually a fairly straight forward rock group. The band began as a four-piece and released two albums that were self-titled in 1979 and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. However, even though the group have a diverse musical background, their biggest success came in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster but not without its issues. Record companies placed the band on the spot with the ultimatum "give us an album that is a success or we'll take you off the market" and the pressure was on to meet the deadline. Toto was able to achieve this feat with the help of the smash hit "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their prior experience. Before joining the group, the members worked as session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. 토지노 사이트 has become the standard for the '80s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.
This album starts off hard, with songs such as Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write fantastic AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into you. The album also features jazzier, slower tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations, a song that mixes folk with distorted AOR and should sound completely wrong, but actually works wonderfully well.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes began to wane. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band had to go through numerous drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band after drug charges. The band continued to play with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It wasn't as popular as IV. However, the band had a successful chart-topping album in the year 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. The album was the last of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new singer.

Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet arrangement of previous albums and was a stronger, more consistent effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. Its edgier sound reflected the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's greater proficiency on the drums, as well as an improved, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. Keyboardist David Paich's work was more precise, sharper and less cloying than previously recorded performances.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam that was released as a set of two CDs entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The studio album came out just a few months later and the group embarked on a long-distance tour in support of it. In this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to discover songs that had never been recorded prior to. It was released as a double-album titled Then and Now in 2001. It was the band's first album without a single song titled "A". The album also included a previously unreleased track called "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was not a commercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that restricted his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes along with the other members of Asia--Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened an event in England in early 2006 to discuss the possibility of reforming the band. This lineup, with the exception of Howe (who was a member of Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had an appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
