Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, like eth Titans have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests or missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they are upgraded.
To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player must select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are exactly the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For example adding a Glyph will transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from earlier versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of important items to maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across multiple items.
This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to its highest level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the item's base type. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a base that is normal will have no more than two affixes available for it, whereas legendary armors can have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take between one and two hours and will cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower chance of success.
To measure the height of a structure, engineers will utilize a level to compare the measurement with a known reference point such as a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level before turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to an extremely high level of accuracy and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. item upgrading can then be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for each stat. This can be a good or a bad thing, depending on your needs and expectations from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that increases the power of the item by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added into the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the better chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.
The game also comes with number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending a lot of money.
Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character faster, allowing you to advance in the game and achieve higher levels.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in different ways. They can be different dimensions, have no elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides a wide range of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that offer high defense value and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not improve the quality of the item's stats when as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have a lot of armor pieces or weapons.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique functions that are beneficial for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level as their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial improvement in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
