World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades give players the ability to upgrade equipment that they already own. This can be accomplished by any upgrader of items NPC.
Generally, upgrades increase an item's main stats and provide additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs, or Goldwrap for build casters.
Armour
Armour is one of the most important factors that keep Link protected from injury in the majority of situations. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in different ways to improve its defence capabilities.
The basic idea of armour is to protect a person or animal from physical harm or injury, either from direct physical attack or from an array of dangers to the environment or activity. Historically, most armour was made of fabrics or leather, however metal protections were also used in military applications, particularly such as heavy cavalry and combat drones.
There are a variety of ways to upgrade armour, but the majority of them require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a distinct level of upgrade, with higher levels of protection that require more rupees and materials.
The first thing you need to know about Armor Upgrades is that they are permanent upgrades and once they've been applied they can't be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. It is important that you only apply the highest grade of upgrades to your gear and that you have enough of the necessary materials to complete the process.
item upgrader can find the upgrades you require in a variety places throughout Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants, and even enemies. They'll usually be identified with a gold circle or a blue triangle symbol, and will be available in large quantities as you move through the game. They could appear randomly, however there is a chance that getting certain upgrades can trigger a quest that will reward you with more.
It is also important to note that, even though the level of protection offered by each upgrade is different however, it's the same for all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armor will provide you with a substantial defense boost that protects you from all forms of attacks, except magic, making it a powerful tool for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that make them unique. They can increase the damage, alter the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your build or even unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, ammo types and more aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll need to have an upgrade component available and the item. The weapon must also be at a certain level for the upgrade to be effective and most weapons can only take one upgrade at one time.
Weapon upgrade components can be found all over the world from a variety of sources, including merchants or enemies. Upgrade components are made up of components that you can slot into weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and other items to earn an attribute bonus. They require the equipment to be of a certain level to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mix of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they can be used to enhance the base stats of a weapon and enhancing its scale with other stats. They can be found from enemies who drop them in the open world, bought from a few merchants or found from combat.
There are two NPCs who can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon and an enhancement.
It's important to prioritise upgrading your top-of-the-line items first, followed by those you won't be replacing in the near future. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade your shoulders, chest, hands, and feet if you plan to play in a melee-based build. The same principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain items may be better than others depending on your playstyle. The same goes for Armour and reforges, with some being superior to others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item. If an upgrade plan is cancelled, any subsequent upgrades for the item won't begin. Magic items that are upgraded will cost twice the gold they would normally cost to make or purchase, but they can also offer additional advantages.
A magical item is any item that has some special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, but some are also shields, armor and cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings, and other items. Some of these items can be made sentient.
The majority of magic items have their abilities enhanced. This can make them more useful to players or aid them to overcome a difficult situation. A weapon that contains some special substance could, for instance, provide additional damage against a specific type of enemy. This is especially useful for characters that have reached a level where they'll likely encounter the same type of monster in dungeons over and over again.
A ring infused with magic might give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon, pierce, or slash (excluding silvered attacks) until the character is given a second rest. This can be particularly helpful for combatants who are melee or anyone who wishes to save the expense and hassle of buying a shield.
Certain items enchanted by magic have special powers which allow the character to cast spells in addition to those on their class's spell list. This is a great benefit for characters who have difficulties keeping their spell slots full because of multiclassing. These items that are enchanted typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling on a table based on the number of Intelligence points used.
Other items that can be enchanted may allow the player to change their appearance, or create a new appearance. These items are particularly useful for characters that have been forced to leave their home or are in a location in which they are not accepted. A magical item could give them an invisible effect, or make them invisible to anyone except a chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment which isn't part of the categories of clothing or armor and are able to perform a variety of capabilities. Utility items are not compatible with each other, as opposed to Armor or Weapons. Most utility items have a passive effect that players can activate while using them. Some have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button or triggering an ability.
The Flashlight is the most popular accessory. It illuminates the area around it. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. A variety of utilitarian items can be quickly created in the Engineering section, while others are unlockable through research projects or projects in the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items available in the normal inventory, players can also obtain some more useful items of utility by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded to allow more effective use.
The majority of utility items give the player a navigational advantage or increase a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, made by an Weaponsmith can boost power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, crafted by a Huntsman will increase concentration and healing power. Other useful items such as Writs or Theses created by the Scribe can be used to give the player either a boost in damage or condition damage.
All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one utility item at the beginning of the campaign, and an additional slot becomes available by equipping certain types of armor or by completing engineering, research or experimental projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher which allows players to equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot, while an offensive grenade is placed in the main grenade slot.
