Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes. They can also improve the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as rewards from missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player has to choose it and click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.
There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, include their name at the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks, and each item can be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.
This will enable the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy and it is reset to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available is contingent on the item's base. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a base that is normal will have no more than two affixes to choose from, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.
If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC offers players the option to transfer it to a new character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. item upgrades can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will have less chance of success.
Engineers may employ a level to measure the height of the building with an established point, such as a benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to an extremely high level of accuracy and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other attributes. You can do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be used sparingly.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to earn reroll tokens. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.
Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes, which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may be equipped with a special bonus that increases the item's power by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher your chance of getting a unique bonus.
The game also comes with a number of sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending lots of money.
Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character faster, which allows players to advance in the game and achieve higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They can be of different sizes, have none of the elements, or contain a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They also aid in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Armor sets with the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not boost the stats of the item when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have a lot of armor or weapons already.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could increase their defense and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.
To see if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on their screen of their character. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.
In general, armor and weapons have higher value when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. It will also boost the defense of armor with an updated appearance.
