Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new attachments. They can also increase its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved in loot from enemies, or obtained from chests and missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade stats will be as well as the necessary component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.
There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For instance, adding the suffix Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in several key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level, but the required materials don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few key items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the cost of upgrades across several items.
This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it is reset to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available depends on the type of item it is. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests, depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not reach its max level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower success rate.
Engineers use a level in order to measure the height of the building with a known point, like a benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item's strength, damage, or other characteristics. This can be done via the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling can be item upgrade and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.
Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This could be a positive or bad thing dependent on your needs and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may come with a bonus that increases the item's power by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher your chance of getting a unique bonus.
The game also includes several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a character without spending an excessive amount of money.
Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling can help you create a more powerful character faster, which allows players to advance in the game and attain higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be put together in various ways. They can have various sizes, contain no elements at all or contain just one element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading, others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).
Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into parity with their levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items could increase their defense and improve their performance when it comes to damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their character screen. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements for specific items.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. This will also increase the defense of armor with an updated look.
