World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades give players the ability to upgrade their equipment that they already have. This can be done by any upgrader of items NPC.
Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stat and can give it extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB Sorcs, and Goldwraps for build casters.
Armour
Armour is one of the main factors that keep Link safe from harm in the majority of situations. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in various ways to improve its defence capabilities.
Armour is designed to protect animals or people from injury or harm from direct physical attack or a variety of hazards posed by the environment or activities. Historically, most armour was made of leather or fabric, but metal protections were also utilized particularly for military purposes like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons, there are a number of ways in which armour can be upgraded, but the majority of them require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain provides a different level of upgrade and higher levels of protection that require more rupees and materials.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been applied they aren't able to be removed until you own a different piece of equipment with the same upgrade. You should only apply most powerful upgrades to your equipment and make sure that you have the materials required to complete them.
In terms of acquiring the upgrade components needed you'll find them in various locations around Hyrule including shrines, shops, and even enemies. They are typically marked by a blue triangle or a gold circle symbol. They are available in large numbers as you progress through. Although they can appear randomly, there is an opportunity that acquiring certain upgrade elements will trigger a quest that will reward you with more.
It is also important to note that, even though the level of protection provided by each upgrade varies, it is the same across all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. This is due to the fact that a full set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost that will protect you from all kinds of attacks, except magic and makes it a formidable weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you want to make your guns truly unique, you can upgrade them with a variety of special upgrades. These can increase damage, change the weapon's stats to cater to your build, and even unlock new attachments, such as unique ammo types, enchantments, and aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon you'll require an upgrade component in place and the item itself. The weapon should be at a minimum of an appropriate level to upgrade it. Most weapons only accept a single upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components can be found scattered throughout the world, from the enemy or from merchants. Upgrade components are a mix of ingredients that you can slot into weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and other items in order to gain an attribute bonus. They require equipment to be of a certain degree to be able to take the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mix of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they are used for enhancing the base stats of a weapon and improving its scaling with other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open or from merchants. They can also be obtained through combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: the Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
It's important to prioritize upgrading your best-in-slot items first, followed by those you won't be replacing soon. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your shoulders, chest, hands, and feet in case you intend to play a melee build. The same principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain items may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. Armour is not any different, with some refining better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one item of magic. If an upgrade plan is cancelled and the next upgrade for the item won't begin. Magic items that are upgraded cost twice the gold they would normally cost to create or buy however they may provide additional benefits.
A magical item is any item that has some special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but some are also armor, shields and cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls and other objects. item upgrading of these items are sentient.
The majority of magic items enhance their capabilities. item upgrade can make them more useful to a player or help players overcome difficult situations. A weapon that contains a special substance might, for instance, provide an extra level of damage to a particular type of enemy. This is particularly useful for characters who have reached a stage at which they are likely to encounter the same kind of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
A ring with an infusion could grant the ability to resist piercing, bludgeoning, or slashing damage from nonmagical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This is particularly beneficial for combatants who are melee or anyone who wants to avoid the expense and hassle of buying an armor.
Certain enchanted objects possess special powers that allow the character to cast spells that aren't in their list of classes. This is useful for a character who has difficulties filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana) and the spell is determined by rolling a table based on the number of Intelligence points spent.
Other enchanted objects might allow the character's appearance be altered or create a brand new one. These items are especially beneficial for characters who have been forced to leave their home, or are in a location that they might not be welcome. A magical item could give them the ability to disappear or make them invisible for everyone, except for the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that do not fall under the categories of clothing, armor or Weapons, and provide various capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor and Clothing, no utility item can conflict with another. The majority of utility items have a passive effect which players can activate while using them. Some have additional abilities which are activated by pressing a button, or by activating the skill.
Generally speaking, the most popular type of utility item is the Flashlight that illuminates the surrounding area. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow players to fly in the air while moving and the Jetpack that allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can create instantly a variety of useful items, while others are only available through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to those that are available in their normal inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items are upgradeable to make them more effective.
Most utility items give players a navigational advantage or increase the ability to fight. Sharpening stones, made by an Weaponsmith can boost power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, made by a Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other utility items such as Writs or Theses created by the Scribe, can be used to give the player either an increase in damage or condition damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip a single utility item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available once you have completed certain research, engineering or research projects on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher which lets the player equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot, while an offensive grenade is equipped in the main grenade slot.
