Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment gives an increase in the linearity of a given stat.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats on your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by many different methods that include using upgrade components as well as increasing an item's mark level or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to increase their stats.
Upgradeable items can be found throughout the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots that can be upgraded and some require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer an overall bonus.
There are several types of upgrade elements in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any equipment, and offer less than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting material.
To upgrade an item, simply select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you do not have enough of or.
The amount of upgrade components required for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can lower the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a seller, or trading them with other players.
The majority of weapons can be upgraded by adding a prefix, such as a rune, or an insignia. Other weapons can be enhanced with an suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, for example 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the noninscribable wands, shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a way to convey visual information. They are animated to grab the viewer's attention and spur interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles body language, making them even more effective in communicating the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a certain range. This is shown on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the highest value that a glyph could increase a stat's value by and not the amount it actually improves it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are in awe of.
Most upgrade components slotted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
If you are looking to remove a glyph from a piece of, you will need to salvage it with an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item will be destroyed within which it is placed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered as a loss.
When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also add an inscription to your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This can be helpful for players who take lots of damage from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants the player a new random affix, which is typically superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items do not appear in the menu of item upgrades , but they are still able to be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.
In addition to reroll tokens players can also make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll the % chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.
Rerolling is a great option to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl will be diminished by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective on Diadems and rings, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.
The Reroll system has been criticized by players as being too expensive and it's more fair to let people pay for it using money or food items that allows players to alter their builds without spending too much time and effort. The developers aren't planning to introduce paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to include a race change potion in the near future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to boost the value of an upgrade for an item. The first method of leveling up an item upgrade is to increase the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of upgrading any stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which boosts damage or healing for a stat. In addition, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. After this the new item will maintain its iLevel but it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded type of item.
When upgrading items It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases, a better roll is based on the glyphs. However, there are times where a higher or more special roll could occur. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a specific item type, then it has a chance of gaining an additional level.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially when you're upgrading a piece of gear from the normal to legendary track. The price will depend on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. Certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item will be at the maximum level of its upgrade track and unlock a bonus effect. This will result in a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level, though. Generally speaking the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.
Based on the item's level of base and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will also change. For instance the weapon that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to an exceptional item is likely to get the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
